Troy W.                                               Venezuela

About three days ago I returned from my 7 week adventure in Venezuela, It was amazing! I saw all sorts of people and some amazing animals, except I don't know what most of the animals were called. I had so much fun and I went a few amazing sights! First, I went to the Orincoco Delta, it's the longest river there and it splits apart into a bunch of other rivers at the delta all over Venezuela. There were people rafting and floating the calm parts of the river, I even saw some huge fish! Next, I went to Angel Falls, it is a huge and amazing waterfall that drops over 1000 meters! It was amazing and the mist coming from the dropping water made a bunch of rainbows everywhere! Finally, my absolute, hands down, favorite experience there was Margarita Island! On the island there are a bunch of super fun night clubs that me and my new friend Santiago were chilling out having a few lemonades, chocolate milk, popsicles, and juice boxes. So after my bro Santiago and I were done chillin at the clubs, we went to the western side of the island for some pretty awesome scenery. I even bought matching sweaters for Santiago and I! The west side had some mountains that you could hike on and that was a blast! After the hiking and the scenery, Santiago got really sad because he thought he lost his hand but really it was just in his sweater sleeve because the sleeves were really long. So after about ten minutes of explaining to Santiago that he didn't actually lose his hand, we felt like we should go to the gun ranges because Santiago had a big nerf war coming up in about a month. So on our way to the nerf ranges we got another juice box for each of us. So after the hittin the ranges, we went to the airport for our flight home. Santiago got bored in the airport so he starting singing to everyone. The sad thing was that there was a 34 hour delay and we had to stay at the airport. Some flying companies aren't very good, so I don't hurt anyone's feelings or anything, I'll make up an airline name. Lets call it Delta airlines. But the good thing about the plane was that we saw Bruno Mars on the plane and Santiago and I wanted to impress him so we sang a duet for him and I'm not quite sure what he thought of it because he just rand away from us and the flight attendant made us go back to our seats. Finally, the trip was over and now I'm here, blogging to all of my favorite Spanish class friends about my trip to Venezuela :).

                                     Argentina
                                            By: Cole E.

The first place i went to in Argentina was Cordoba. It was very beautiful with lots of plants and people and AMAZING FOOD! Assosiated football is the most popular sport in Cordoba, as well as in argentina. I got to play soccer against paylay. I then went to Emilio Caraffa, a musium in Cordoba with Thomas and Matt. Then we went to our hotel the Sheraton Cordoba Hotel and went to bed with great planes in store for the next day.

The next day we went to Plaza De Mayo. Its origins can be traced back to Juan de Garya's foundation of Buenos Aires itself, in 1580. Some of its surroundings are Casa Rosada, Metropaliton cathedral of Buenos Aires, and probably the most famous, May Pyramid or also known as Piramide de Mayo in Spanish. It is the oldest monument in Buenos Aires. We went to most of those and had  lots of fun. My favorite was Casa Rosada. The Plaza de Mayo has always been the focal point of political life in Buenos Aires. Its current name commemorates the May Revolution of 1810, which started the process towards the country's independence from Spain in 1816. That night we decided to camp out so we bought some tints and sleeping bags and, of course, marshmallows, and found a camp spot. The next day, the last day, we had some big planes in store.

We woke up the next day and we were going to go to Pinamar, mostly for the beach. Two facts set Pinamar apart from most of the other Atlantic Ocean beach cities: it is a planned city with a very strict building code, and it has been artificially turned from wild sand dunes into a forest (mostly of pine trees, which explains the "pina" in the name). The beach was beautiful. The sand, white as snow, and super soft. The city was beautiful with lots beautiful trees. We went to the beach and went surfing. Thomas was bad at it but me and matt were good, because we are from California . The city had  great architecture. That was our last day. We went to our hotel and we thought about all the fun times. But we had to fly away the next day.

The next day we woke up at 7 a.m. Our plane took off at around 10 so we had to get ready. It was 9 when we got to the airport. We checked our bags in and got on the plane. The plane ride was 8 hours long. The whole time we talked about the trip. As you can see we had a great time. We will remember this for the rest of our lives.

Justin-

When i visited Chile I went skiing in El Colorado. Everyone was wearing there winter coats and eating tacos in the lodge. I also decided to go snow motorcycling. After that i went Heliskiing, but on the way down I tripped and face planted in the snow and rolled down the hill. After that i went down to the lodge, and I bought a taco, it was a yummy taco.

After that I went to a hotsprings where i met my new friend Troyito McBurrito Loco Nacho.then me and Troyito McBurrito Loco Nacho went and got some ice cold apple juice. We sipped the apple juice out of the straw vigorously. After that I had to leave. Me and Troyito McBurrito Loco Nacho had a sleep over and after we woke up I had to go to the airport me and Troyito McBurrito Loco Nacho had a huge bro hug and Troyito McBurrito Loco Nacho cried when I left. My trip to Chile was awesome.

When I came to Chile me and my family went to go look around the city. It was very fun spending time with my family in Chile. When we were done looking around town we went to find a hotel to stay their over night. In a few minuets we found were to stay over night. When the night came we all went to sleep. When we and my family woke up we went to go bird watching. After that we went swimming  at the beach.

After swimming and bird watching we went to a fancy restaurant in the city. I got a very delicious chocolate cake with white chocolate shredded on top of it. It was very good. When we left the restaurant we went for a walk on the beach.

I visited Chile. It is beautiful! First off, I went bird watching- there were so many different majestic birds to see. I met this girl named Maria, she was born in Spain but then moved here because of a job. So she was getting used to things and trying to see what its like. Just like me!!! We became really good friends ever since the start. I still keep good touch with her and we write letters to each other. She is SUPER nice! Then, she asked me if I wanted to go whale watching, so I said yes because someone told me that that was really fun after I asked them what was fun to do. It was so fascinating watching the whales rise from the water. We went off the coast of Coquimbo, but there is other places that you could have gone. Then, finally we got to go to the beach off Dalmas Island!!!!! It was my favorite thing to do while I was there. I love the warm weather so much! We met some really nice people there. All in all there is so many different things to do in Chile, but I choose to go bird and whale watching and go to the beach. I hope I can go back soon!

Kristen Y.- Argentina

What did I do when I went to Argentina for three days? I went to three different places. I went to the Iguazu National Park, Los Glaciares National Park, and Puerto Madryn.

I spent my first day at the Iguazu National Park. the Iguazu National Park is the most gorgeous place on earth. It is a not just any old waterfall it is a ginormous waterfall in Argentina. It is nearby a tropical rainforest. I had some much fun at the giant waterfall. I literally rode on the waterfall to the bottom where I swam and had fun with my friends.

My second day at Argentina I spent the day in completely opposite weather at Los Glaciares National Park. At Los Glaciares National Park I rode a boat directly underneath the glacier! It was freezing cold, but such a neat experience. One of my stupid decisions, to see what would happen I stuck out my tongue on one of the icebergs and my tongue got stuck on the iceberg let me just say my tongue was hurting for the next few days luckily it was almost my last day.

Lastly I switched weather again and went to Puerto Madryn. Puerto Madryn is a beautiful place it's, ... a beach. Beaches are my favorite I love the warm weather it feels so great on my skin, I especially love playing in the ocean water. I also went on a submarine trip, and saw tons of marine animals I enjoyed swimming with them it was so much fun.

That is what I did on my three day trip in Argentina.

I recently was in Peru so I decided to go to some famous places, one of which was Machu Picchu.  Machu Picchu is the best preserved Inca civilization.  Machu Picchu was in fact abandoned before the spanish came so the spanish had no idea it even existed.  Machu Picchu's population was about 500 but could hold 700 people and yet even though it could hold all those people it didnt have enough terraces to feed 700 people.

Another place i visited while i was in peru was saqsaywaman.  saqsaywaman is the Inca Epire's capital.  like other Incan territories its made with dry stone.  Within the capital there is the town square which can hold over a thousand people in it at once.  Also located in Saqsaywaman is three massive terrace walls which i would assume is used for defense.

The last place i visited was huacapacllana.  The huacapcllana is pretty much a big clay pyramid.  It gets its name from the word "pluclla" meaning "play."  The strucure is surrounded by a plaza or town square.  There are however two sections to this landmark seperated by a big wall.  All in all Peru is a great place.

Exploring Chile

I traveled to Chile.  The places I visited were Easter Island, Torres del Paine National Park, and Atacama Desert.

At Easter Island I saw the Moai Statues.  They were huge!  I ate Tunu Ahi, a tuna dish.  Plus, I explored some of the many caves on the island.  I also went scuba diving.

My second destination was Torres del Paine National Park located in Southern Chile.  I hiked in the beautiful Andes Mountains.  This was my favorite part of Chile.

The last spot that I visited was the Atacama desert.  It is the driest place on Earth.  Some plants do grow there in spite of this.  In fact, I got to see a very rare native plant called llareta.  I also saw the white-capped volcanoes.

Hello everybody! I went to Chile yesterday, and it was amazing. I met many new people and experienced some things that I never thought I would experience before.

First, I went to Atacama Desert. It was very hot and humid there and there wasn't much water. But I got to see many many animals that I am not very used to seeing.

Second, I went to Santiago which is a town square sort of thing and there were shopping places and restaurants! It was really fun.

Lastly, I went to nightlife restaurant. The food and dishes there were very fancy and delicious. I loved the desert I had. It was called chocolate wonder. AMAZING.

Well, that was my experience in Chile. I hope you enjoyed reading :-)

Kenedee Z.

We were hurrying through the airport, five minutes until our flight took off.  As we handed the flight attendent our tickets, Jessie asks, "Do we have all our stuff?" "Im pretty sure we do," I reply. And then we stepped aboard the plane. The airplane ride wasnt too bad, except for this really annoying kid that would not stop kicking Jireh's seat. "Knock it off you little brat!"Jireh screams at him. But, she made it through without killing him.
When we stepped off the plane, it was extremely dry and hot. But, since it was summer time, we were dressed well. We were all wearing tanktops and shorts. We looked at our maps, trying to decide where to go first. "Hey, lets go to the Museo Tumblas! I think that's some museum around, here!" Jireh said pointing to the map. "Okay, lets go!" Jessie and I said together, which is strange because we say a lot of things at the same time.
A few hours later, we were all complaing about being hungry. "Hmm, we should look at the map again. Ooh, Tore Tagle Palace, looks yummy!" Jessie says. So we went there and fell in love with that restaraunt, and their food, especially the Lobster Shrimp. "Ahh, i think i am in heaven, Jireh says as her food falls out of her mouth. "I know right!" Jessie and i say at the same time yet again. While walking out of the restaraunt, Jireh says, "Hmm, who wants to go shopping?" "I do, i do!" Jessie and i say together. We said this at the same time, but that's only because it is shopping! And you know how every girl loves shopping like boys love football!
So we went to the MainSquare of Lima and did a lot of shopping. It was really fun! After shopping, we were all worn out. So we decided to go back to the hotel for the night. We got back at around 8:00. When we got in bed, none of us could fall asleep, even though we were all worn out. Maybe it was because we were excited for our second fantastic day in Peru.

In Peru With my BFF's!

We were rushing through the airport, ready to see our first sights of Peru. "What are we going to do first?" Asked Kenedee, "We will probablly find something to eat first.' i said. "What is there to eat anyway?" Asked Jireh, I dont know, i said," I guess we will find out!" Then we got into our rental car, Jirehs bag almost took up the whole car! It was like a clown car in there! Then i looked at my map and said, " Lets go to Torre Tagle Palace! I bet they have something to eat there!" Jireh said, "ok, but make it quick! Im starving!" We went to Torre Tagle Palace and got something to eat. We all had the same thing: Lobster soup! It was so good!
"Were should we go next?!" Me and Kenedee said at the exact same time! Then i said "Oh! Lets go to  the MainSquare of Lima! That place has literally everything there!" "ok! Lets go then!" said Jireh. We got back in the clown car and got to Main Square of Lima. It took us forever to find a good parking spot, and let me tell you, this place was packed! If you took one tiny step any directtion you would definetley  bump into somone! It was so crazy! We walked around, had some snacks, bought some very pretty jewelry, went inside some small stores, and had lots of fun!
It seemed like we were at the Main Square of Lima when we finally decided to leave and go somewhere else in this cool and unique country! Then Jireh said," Oh oh oh! Can we go to Musep Tumbas Reales de Sipan? I have always wanted to go there!" then i said, "Ummm, you have?" then jireh said" No, not really I just made it up!" Then I looked at the map and it turned out to be a real place! So we went there.
This place is bye the way, a museum, and it is the coolest museum you could ever go to! It was so cool! Jireh got really bored though, even though this is the place she wanted to go to, she told us she thought it was a shopping place, and thats why she agreed to go. This museum had a bunch of stuff about Peru, there past, what they would wear,  and all kinds of stuff! it was super cool! We stayed there for about an hour, then we hopped back into our tiny clown car. But it wasnt so tiny any more, i kinda forgot to close the passenger door, so Jirehs suitcase flew out, but i brought extra clothes, but she got mad, it was funny! At least there was more room in the car!
We had an amazing day in Peru, we went shopping, we saw an awesome museum, and we went to the mainsquare of lima, and we had an awesome lunch! We finally got to our hotel and right when we walked in we were to tired to even get up and put on our pajamas, or brush our teeth! Instead we all collapsed  on one bed, and passed out, We just couldn't wait for another day in Peru.

I got to Bogota, I looked around visited a few places and went to my hotel and had a meal called Ajaco: Potato and Corn soup. Then wen't to my room and slept.

I woke up the next morning and went to Teatro colon it is known for its stadiums and architecture. I got to see a football game and it was awesome. After that I went to the hotel and fell asleep.

I then got up to go see the amazing Botanical Gardens it displays the incredible variety of flora found in Colombia. I smelled some flowers and then went on with the tour, it was my last day in Colombia, I then had to go. I got on my plane and got back to Idaho, I saw a lot of cool things in Colombia.

My Trip To Argentina

The first place I went was Cordoba. I went golfing with world renown golfer Phil Mickelson. It was really fun. The course was amzing and the scenery was beautiful. Also on my seccond day there I went canoeing on the Parana River. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. It also had beautiful flora and fauna.

The second place I visited on my trip was Buenos Aires. I went to the Feria de San Pedro Telmo Street fair. They had so many different games and things to buy, including clothes that we don't see in America. On my last day in Buenos Aires, I went to Corrientes Avenue and watched the beautifully talented tango dancers.

The last place I visited on my trip to Argentina was Litoral. I visited the Iguazu waters. It had such beautiful flora and fauna. My last day in Litoral and Argentina I went sports fishing. I had so much fun and caught a lot of fish.

That was my trip to Argentina, I had so much fun and I hope I can go back soon.

 Ethan A. p.3

Today I am going to Argentina in South America.  Right now I know mostly how to speak Spanish. I am going to the airport and when I got there, I had to wait in a long line to get in the airplane.  Then I got in.  I fell asleep half way there.  When we stopped, I immediately woke up and got off  the plane. Then I thought this is going to be the beginning of an adventure.

Every body was talking in Spanish! I knew I would get used to Spanish very quickly.  Everyone was kind enough to help me out to speak Spanish.  I pre ordered a hotel so I had a place to sleep. I happen to get on a tour bus and show me around.

First, they took me to the Cuyo. Cuyo Is a high peak desert and very dry.  There were lots of rocks everywhere and many lizards and other reptiles.  I saw a lizard jumping up to get a beetle in the air.
Then I went to Larg. Larg is a series of rivers and waterfalls. Sometimes, it would make a rainbow from it.  Lots of moist ground and plants were there.

Then, I finally had to get packed up and go to the airport.  The line was short to get on the plane back to America.  I slept the whole way, except the very end when I got off.  When I got home, I made a scrap book of all the stuff I did on the trip.

Venezuela

Last week I went to Venezuala and visited the Margarita Island, los Roques, and Morrocoy. It was very exciting to expierience all of the the places I visited. some day i hope i can visit even more of the South American countries.
The Margarita Island was very beutiful. Margarita island is known for its quality beaches, nature and parties. The Eastern part of the island has beaches to suit everyone, clubs, shopping, hotels, and colonial towns. The western side of the island has more paradise, mountains, mangrove swamps, and abundant wildlife. In conclusion, there are two great sides to Margarita Island, a party side and a wildlife side, but both are great.
Los Roques was magnificent. It had the clearest blue waterski have ever seen. As I snorkeled through the new under water world I saw lots of coral and life. This one of a kind place is found 160 miles north of  Caracas. In the end, Los Roques was great and I didn't want to leave.
Morrocoy was great. It had blue waters that you could swim in for hours. Birds with the most magnificent feathers and they came in every shape and size. There are many islands, coral, and fish, but beneath all of that is a world of wonder. I feel that Morrocoy was a great end to my trip and suggest that more people go.
At the end of my wonderful trip I was very sad yet happy with the experiences and memories that I made. I suggest that everyone who plans a trip to Venezuela goes to those three places. I hope to go back to South America and visit many more places.
                                                                                                  - Hannah M.

Kyle N. country:Argentina

KYLE N.

It started when i entered the airport to one of South America's countries called Argentina. People were flooding the place and to them i just was a tiny fish in a giant pond. As soon as I got out of the airport i was throbing with adventure but also i was really hungry and needed something to eat. So i decideed to get a grilled Gaucho steak with chimichurri and it was delcious and it satisfied my hunger.
So my first, stop in argentina was to go to Iguazu Falls. Are tour guide was the leader of the pack showing all of us the wildlife and gigantic forest. But of course he saved the best for last the falls it was huge and it was amzing to see all of these people speaking the Guarani language. This was the highlight of my trip to Argentina.
My final stop, in Argentina was to the Uruguay river I saw people fishing everywhere and cattle running around like wild dogs as the other tourists in my group were snapping pictures frantically. But I was so happy when we stopped at the hot springs (a.k.a the relaxing station). I was soothed with the hot water running up and down my body and I after that I was the happiest person alive.
My trip to Argentina was the best and sometime in the near future I hope I can go there again
The first place I went to was Cordoba. I went golfing with world renown Tiger Woods and it was great!!! I loved the scenery and the course, it was beautiful!! Then on the second day I went to the Parana River and went canoeing to see the great parana River.

The second place I went to was Buenos Aires. When i got there I was very excited to go fishing  with the most legendary fisherman briton( no last name) it was great!!!! I had a blast and we caught a bunch of big fish and almost a few bull and white sharks!!!!!

The last place I went to was Litoral and it was probably the funnest place I've ever been to! Although I had one day I knew that I had to make it great. So on the last day I decided to go to a festival/fiesta!!! It was great and we did all sorts of stuff like dancing and putting on costumes and the first thing i noticed about the clothing was that the colors were very vibrant there and I had a great time with the celebrations and ceremonies.

All in all, the trips I had to Argentina were amazing and they will have memories that will last a lifetime!!! I hope I come back soon to see the beautiful nature and wildlife of the great country of Argentina!!!

My Adventure in Argentina

                                 My Adventure in Argentina
One time, my family went on vacation to Argentina. We got to see a lot of cool places in Argentina. One of the places we got to see was the Calchaquil valleys. And I found out that the ancient reminders of the Calchaquil valleys comprise the remains of various tribes that existed in the area of Tucuman.

And we also saw the Iguazu Falls. They are taller than Niagra falls and twice as wide. And it is on the border of Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina.

The last place we saw was the Bueno Aires. Historical sites stand as testament to events throughout Argentinean history, from its colonial era to the years following the nation's 1816 victory in its war of independence with Spain. Blake W.

A few months ago I visited Chile and found that it is wonderful place to visit with many attractions such as, Easter Island, the Port of Valparaiso, and Santiago.

The first place I visited in Chile was Easter Island. I saw pink sand beaches, volcanoes, rode on a horse across the grasslands, swam with marine life, and adventured in a cave.

Second, I went to the Port of Valparaiso. There I found a maze of bundled home on a hill overlooking the sea. At a restaurant I ate the most amazing seafood I've ever had.

Last, I went on a tour of the Santiago buildings and culture. I saw many water fountains, the halls of the National Library, and a dance and opera performance at the Teatro Municipal.

Easter Island, the Port of Valparaiso, and Santiago make Chile an awesome and beautiful place to visit and I think that its worth your while to make a trip there.

Argentina

Last summer I went to Argentina. First, I went to Iguazu Falls. Iguazu Falls is a place were there are a lot of rivers, forest/large trees, red earth and there are many more things that are there. They have many activates like hiking, fishing, rafting, and even shopping. I had a great time here.
The next place I went was Jesuit Blocks. This is in the city of Cordoba. This is an important economic city in Argentina. This is a historical town too. It has many antiques and paintings in caves. You may also find many chapels and farmhouses from the 1600's and 1700's. This was a very interesting place to visit. Within the city there are many different places to visit .
The last place I visited was Perito Moreno Glacier. This Glacier is thousands of years old with beautiful paintings on the side of the Cueva de las Manos (Cave of Hands). There is also a lot of  wildlife such as Southern Elephant Seals, Southern Right Whales, Creole Hares, Rheas, Guanacos, and Penguins. I think I liked going there the best. I loved seeing all the animals and the ice everywhere was so beautiful.

~Argentina~

Last week, I went to Argentina. The first place that interested me was the Pento Moreno Glacier. There were huge chunks of ice that formed over time. I felt like I was in Antarctica. I was amazed.
The next place that attracted me was the Iguazu Falls. As I read the guide brochure, there was a shocking fact: The Iguazu Falls has 275 waterfalls! Wow! Of course, I took a lot of pictures, and couldn't take my eyes away from the waterfall. As I look around, many people or tourists were wearing Hawaiian shirts, shorts, like they were going to the beach.
The last place that got my attention was the City of Buenos Aires. Fancy buildings like mansions with streets and sidewalks lined with trees and bushes, low houses and popular stores. As I stroll down the streets, I could see that people everywhere were smiling, whether from which country you were from. This was a place for me.

                                                                            Bolivia

The first thing I did when i got to Bolivia was go to the Atacama desert. Their was so many animals and interesting things. I saw elephants, lions, giraffes, ect. Our tour guide was really cool and told us a lot about the Atacama desert and its animals. It was really hot and humid but I got used to it.

The net thing I did in Bolivia was go shopping in Santiago. People wore really colorful clothes and really cool jewelry. It was hard finding clothes because their style is different but they still had a lot of the same stores at we do. Their was a lot of street dancers and performers.

The next and my last day I went to a fancy restaurant called nightlife. they had really good tacos and enchiladas. It was really dark and cool inside. The service was good but they didn't speak a lot of english. This was my adventure in Bolivia.

Bolivia

Bolivia

By: Jordyn D.

What would you do if you went to Bolivia? If I went to Bolivia, first I would like to explore the city Santa Cruz. In Santa Cruz, I would like to explore the Municipal Zoo. The Municipal Zoo has alot of exotic, endangered, and cool animals! The Municipal Zoo is one of the best Zoos in Bolivia. The Municipal Zoo has animals like mammals, reptiles, birds, and more! Finally, if I went to Bolivia, first I would go to the Municipal Zoo.

Second I would go to the city Tarija. In Tarija is the Chorros de Jurina. The Chorros de Jurina is a set of twin waterfalls. The waterfalls are both forty-meters tall. Chorros de Jurina is surrounded by unique, but very pretty lanscape. The Chorros de Jurina is located twenty-one kilometers from the city of Tarija. Therefore, if I went to Bolivia, I would definatly go to the Chorros de Jurina.

Lastly, I would visit the city of Sucre. While I would be in Sucre I would go to the Casa de la Libertad. It is located on the main plaza. It is the house where the declarition of Independenc for Bolivia was signed on August 6, 1825. In the house there are portraits of presidents, military decorations, and documents laid out. As you can see, if I went to Bolivia, I would go to all these wonderful places.

Im going to Uruguay for vactaion and i decided to go to La Barra, La Paloma, Piriapolis.

When I was in La Barra i saw beaches, galleries, clubs, pubs, a rocky fishing site called Gorgorita. I went surfing, boating, fishing , water skiing, and yachting. I ate asado, chivito, chaja, milanesa, and morcilla dulce. People wear western style clothing in Uruguay. They also bright scarves, straw hats, ponchos, etc. I thought La Barra was cool.

I then went to La Paloma for my 2nd out of 3 places i visited. I saw lots of cinemas, camping, casinos, and night life. I was at the casinos late when i stayed there. i went camping once and saw a movie at a cinema. La Poloma is a perfect place to have fun at night.

Lastly i went to Piriapolis on my Uruguay vacation. Piriapolis was the 1st swimming resort in Uruguay. I saw lots of hotels and lots of night life like La Paloma. Piriapolis is a fun place during the summer because thats when the night life is.

After My vacation in uruguay i was amazed how different Uruguay is to America.
